It’s been eight weeks since Hurricane Maria caused massive damage to Puerto Rico….and the US Territory is yet and still without power.
More than half of Puerto Rico’s power grid remains offline.
Efforts to restore electricity provision to the Puerto Rican population were not helped by a major power line failure last Thursday, which reduced capacity to 18%.
According to the latest official figures, capacity is now back up to almost 48%, after the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) fixed it.
This is the largest blackout in U.S. history.
