County Fair Under Fire for Selling Slave Shackles…for $250 each
Speaking of white nationalism, an Indiana County Fair has come under fire for allowing one of its vendors to sell SLAVE SHACKLES. The slave shackles are marked as being for negro women and children and that said slaves was the property of a specific plantation. These shackles? Were being sold for $250 a pop. Social media erupted in disgust, making distinction between what should be held in a museum and what should not be sold. I was more of the mind set that Megan (@hotgluenglitter) had. They didn’t’ look museaum real to me. They looked like modern replicas. And as Megan said – “That there is a market for them is gross”. I expected everyone to think this, but then I saw this comment on Instagram by @mackmall504 “I would love to buy these and put in my home. I want my son to grow up to see stuff like this. They are trying to erase history everyday. I want my child to understand/see what our people went through so he can understand how far we have left to go. We should keep this stuff around because they try to tell us it wasn’t that bad.” Uh, bruh, THAT IS WHAT A MUSEAUM IS FOR! But, lo and behold, Instagram user @somrfocused came at @mackmall504 from a different angle…he replied, “Bruh, w’ere LIVING PROOF of their treacherous deeds…ya baby boy don’t need to see physical chains….turn on [the] tv he can see mental chains at every flicker.” Well said, @somrfocused. Well said. . – @Trezanay
